CAIRO – 17 October 2020: The Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expats Affairs started preparing for "Egypt Can with Industrialization" conference upon the recommendation of late Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed al-Assar.
"Egypt Can" is a series of conferences hosting Egyptian expats specialized in the themes of different editions. The date of the next edition themed industrialization has not been announced yet. The conference will honor the memory of late Egyptian businessman and owner of Oriental Weavers Mohamed Farid Khamis, who deceased last month.
The last edition of "Egypt Can" had as theme investment and development, and took place in 2019.
The conference came up with 22 recommendations asserting the necessity of boosting the tourism sector by setting a solid and creative marketing plan; articulating legislations on tourism investments; preparing a chart of industries where Egypt has an edge and potential export markets; establish a fund for Egyptian expats to contribute in financing enterprises in their homeland; giving care to technical education and vocational training; focusing on technology transfer and modern industries localization; and, benefiting from the pan-African free trade agreement.
