CAIRO – 25 September 2020: Egypt’s Cairo Prosecution resumed, Friday, investigating the three Egyptian fugitives who arrived Egypt coming from Lebanese Capital Beirut, Thursday, as they were confronted with the witnesses and the victim’s testimonials.
The fugitives are accused of raping a girl in 2014, in the notorious case known as “Fairmont Case”.
According to official statement, the three accused fugitives named, Ahmed Tulan, Amr Hussein and Khaled Hussein were questioned about their roles in the crime and how they planed for it. They were also interrogated about their escape to Lebanon.
The Prosecution issued a statmnet, Thursday clarifying that it has received a message from The International Criminal Police Organization, (Interpol), stating that three Egyptian fugitive who are accused of raping a girl in 2014, in the notorious case known as “Fairmont Case,” were arrested and deported to Cairo.
In a statement from the Lebanese Internal Security Force (ISF), Interpol Egypt on August 27 notified the Lebanese authorities of names of fleeing seven defendants, who participated in raping the girl as it has been revealed in a video submitted to the Egyptian Public Prosecution, to Lebanon.
After conducting investigations by the Lebanese authorities, it has been revealed that only five men entered Lebanon late July, the statement added, noting that two out of the five fugitives already fled Lebanon and the three others were arrested on August 28, 2020.
In August 30, ISF arrested the three fugitives: A.T. (Born in 1988), A.E (Born in 1990), and Kh. E. (Born in 1987), who are along with four others raped a girl at Egypt’s Fairmont Hotel in 2014.
The Egyptian Public Prosecution on August 26 revealed that the seven defendants left the country between July 27 and July 29. The victim reported the 2014 rape on Aug. 4, upon which the prosecution immediately put them on the travel ban list.
A day later, the Egyptian authorities announced that another defendant in the case was arrested and detained for four days pending investigations; Amir Zayed was arrested on August 26 as he was trying to flee the country like his seven co-defendants who traveled abroad in late July after their names were circulated on social media.
