Egypt expresses 'full support' for Yemeni-led coalition's moves against Houthi

CAIRO - 15 September 2020: In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, Egypt expressed its full support for all the measures taken by the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen to deal with the practices of Ansar Allah militia(The Houthi movement), which lead to fueling the situation in Yemen.

Egypt also affirms its alliance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts to push for a political solution in Yemen and to enforce the ceasefire between the legitimate government forces and Ansar Allah militia.

Egypt condemns the targeting of civilian installations in the city of Maribby Ansar Allah militiawith ballistic missiles, wounding many civilians.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the great importance of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire in Yemen to reach an agreement on humanitarian and economic measures and address the crisis that is exacerbated by the failure of a political solution.

Egypt appreciates all the efforts of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen to reach these goals.
