CAIRO - 7 August 2020: The Emigration Ministry will organize meetings with representatives of Egyptian unions and entities abroad, as well as admins of effective pages on the different social networking sites.
The meetings are meant to maintain communication between expats and their homeland, said Immigration Minister Nabila Makram Monday.
A conference of Egyptian entities abroad was scheduled to be held in August but was cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Makram made it clear.
Those meetings should be held instead of the cancelled conference, she noted.
For his part, Mazen Fahmy, Assistant Minister of Immigration for Expatriate Affairs and Egyptians Abroad, said that the Ministry of Immigration appreciates the endeavors of Egyptian entities abroad to bring Egyptians together and work to reject division and consolidate concepts of unity and joint action for the common good.
The Ministry of Immigration invites all Egyptian communities abroad to participate in these meetings according to the dates that will be announced during the next few years.
He explained that these meetings will take place in light of the precautionary measures imposed by the state, on top of which is social distancing
He stressed that the opportunity is available to all Egyptian entities abroad to participate in the meetings of the Ministry of Immigration and Labor to present their visions and discuss ways of cooperation and joint work between the Ministry of Immigration and the Egyptian authorities abroad.
