CAIRO – 7 September 2020: Egypt’s recovery rate of coronavirus hit 78.2 percent recovery rate, Monday according to Ministry of Health.
On Sunday, Egypt recorded 151 new coronavirus cases, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 99,863.
In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 19 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 5,530.
As many as 900 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 78,108 so far, the spokesman said.
Earlier, Health Minister Hala Zayed affirmed that Egypt has passed the first wave of the novel virus, as Egypt has been recording a decreasing number of cases.
On Wednesday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed that all necessary measures be taken, in coordination between the Ministry of Health and the various bodies, to provide the highest possible levels of insurance for students and those in the educational system, to ensure their safety and the regularity of the academic process.
The new school year for schools and universities is set to start in October.
The President also directed to ensure the provision of all necessary medical needs and supplies to assist all workers in the health sector and assist them in carrying out their mission.
Sisi also directed to intensify awareness campaigns among citizens regarding dealing with the spread of the coronavirus, especially with regard to the precautionary measures and a plan to co-exist with the presence of coronavirus.
