CAIRO – 22 August 2020: The dean of the Faculty of Education at Banha University was dismissed from his position over committing sexual bribery in return of leaking exam questions in 2018.
The Supreme Administrative Court ruled the punishment against the dean, refused to return him to his work, and allowed him to maintain his pension.
The dean is accused of exploiting his influence, leaking exam questions of the Teaching Methods subject that he teaches at the general education diploma for second grade, which was held on January 2, 2018.
The court affirmed in its ruling that the administrative control has tightened its grip on monitoring, recording and filming the meetings the accused dean with a lady at postgraduate studies.
“Whoever descends to this low behavioral act, which is criminalized by laws, should not be eligible to hold university positions, or have affiliation with the university,” said the court.
The court further added that the dean “betrayed the nation’s trust, which entrusted him in carrying out the educational process.”
It concluded that what the dean has committed is a “behavioral deviation” that will damage reputation, and reduces confidence in the university roles, as it violated the law, morals and values, and undermined the teachings of religions.
Over the past weeks, several harassment and sexual assault incidents were uncovered by female victims who exposed men who blackmailed them and forced them into sexual acts.
