Mansour was the head of the Supreme Consitiutional Court when late President Mohamed Morsi was deposed on July 3, 2013, which made him the acting president of Egypt from July 4 until June 8, 2014. He was succeeded by Sisi in a landslide election win.
The presidency of Mansour was filled with violence by angry supporters of Morsi. He kept a distance from political ambitions and the election was held in a safe and secure environment for the voters.
