BERLIN- 27 June 2017: German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel expressed on Tuesday hope that the Qatari crisis (with other Arab countries) would be settled via a diplomatic solution through initiatives, such as the Kuwaiti initiative and the Arab Gulf countries' negotiations.
Gabriel made the statements at a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is currently visiting Berlin.
The German minister also expressed hope for reaching diplomatic solutions to the Syrian, Iraqi and Libyan crises.
Meanwhile, the Iranian foreign minister said that a settlement should be reached for the Gulf crisis through negotiations and dialogue.
He underlined that other crises in Syria, Iraq and Yemen should be settled through negotiations.
Some 30 people demonstrated on Tuesday in front of the German Foreign Ministry headquarters in Berlin, protesting Zarif's visit to Germany.
