BREAKING| Egypt’s parliament holds closed session on sending troops to Libya

CAIRO – 20 July 2020: The Egyptian House of Representatives is holding at the moment a secret session with Parliament members and the general secretariat of the House to discuss a sensitive topic that has not yet been announced.

It is expected that the issue currently discussed is the military intervention in Libya, as Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi last week said, while meeting tribal chiefs in Egypt, that the Egyptian Army’s intervention in Libya depends on a request by Libyan people and a permission by the Egyptian House.

The members attending the session are not authorized to disclose any details of the discussion inside this secret meeting.
