19M masks to be distributed at ration goods outlets in July

CAIRO - 8 July 2020: A total of 400,000 cloth face masks have been distributed at wholesale companies affiliated to the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, to be sold at ration goods outlets at LE 8.5 per one.

 

Factories making the face coverings started to distribute the first wave of the masks on Tuesday. Egyptians who have ration cards will be able to buy them at this subsidized price from outlets spellings ration products of the ministry.

 

By the end of July, the ministry will have distributed 19-20 million masks.

 

The ministry is studying the purchase of other kinds of cloth masks with prices ranging from LE 6-10 to accommodate the different levels of affordability while meeting the quality standards.

 

The masks will be available in all governorates as means to limit the spread of Covid-19 as the economy reopens.
