Holy Synod hails police after foiling attack on Alex’s church

CAIRO - 25 June 2017: Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Coptic Orthodox Church Bishop Rafael on Sunday hailed the high vigilance of policemen who succeeded in aborting a terrorist attack on a church in Alexandria.

On his Facebook page, Bishop Rafael thanked the police apparatus for its efforts to stop the occurrence of a new disaster in a church in Alexandria.

Security forces have dismantled a terrorist cell comprising six elements, including two suicide bombers, who were plotting to attack one of Alexandria's churches, the Interior Ministry announced on Saturday.
