CAIRO - 24 June 2017: The National Media Authority dismissed as fake news tickers images posted on social media allegedly from the state television.

"They are unfounded and fake. They couldn't have been aired by a national media institution," said the authority in a press release on Saturday.

"This is categorically rejected even if it was for joking," the official body added.

The authority said it has the right to take necessary measures against such websites that intentionally defame national media.
