Pope Tawadros greets, Sisi, Azhar Imam, Mufti, Awqaf minister on Eid

CAIRO - 22 May 2020: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark greeted President Abdel Fttah El Sisis on Eidul Fitr.

Separate statements issued by the Coptic Orthodox Church said Pope Tawadros sent cables to the president and Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed El Tayyeb to greet them on the occasion.

In his cable to El Tayyeb, the pontiff praised El Tayyeb's efforts to disseminate the spirit of amity, tolerance and coexistence, said the statement.

The pope also sent similar cables to Mufti of the Republic Shawqi Allam and Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa.
