CAIRO – 12 May 2020: The police arrested two individuals suspected of money counterfeiting, particularly the LE 20 and LE 100 banknotes.
The two men are based in Cairo but planned to spread the counterfeit money across the country during the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid El-Fitr, where purchasing increases. One of them has a criminal record.
The suspects are paid LE200 for counterfeit money worth LE1,000. The police found at their place 120 and 261 counterfeit LE100 and LE200 banknotes, respectively. That is in addition to a laptop having the designs of the counterfeit money.
