CAIRO – 23 June 2017: The Egyptian official gazette published Thursday a number of decrees by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi after the approval of the House of Representatives.
President Sisi ratified Law No. 77 of 2017 granting social allowances for workers not addressed by the Civil Service Law. The Parliament approved the law in its general session in May.
He also ratified Law No. 78 of 2017 granting an exceptional bonus to public employees, who are not addressed by the Civil Service Law. The new exceptional bonus will be 10 percent of the basic wage, at a minimum of LE 65 ($ 3.58) per month and a maximum of LE 130 ($7.17) per month.
Sisi decided the minimum regular bonus stipulated in the Civil Service Law No. 81 of 2016, and granted an exceptional bonus to those addressed by the Civil Service Law.
In addition, Sisi ratified Law No. 80 of 2017 in which pensions will be increased by 15 percent, with some provisions of social insurance laws amended. The military pensions will also be increased by 15 percent in accordance with Law No. 81 of 2017.
Finally, Sisi issued Law No. 82 of 2017 amending some provisions of the income tax law No. 91 of 2005.
