CAIRO – 28 April 2020: Marsa Alam International Airport received on Tuesday an exceptional flight carrying approximately 148 Egyptian passengers stranded in Indonesia and Oman.

This exceptional flight was operated amid the suspension of flights at the Egyptian airports, in light the coronavirus spread.

Meanwhile, an exceptional flight from Bali and Jakarta, Indonesia has arrived at Marsa Alam Airport carrying 147 Egyptians stranded abroad.

Hotels were allocated to isolate the Egyptians returning from abroad for a period of 14 days, in implementation of the decision of the Egyptian Ministry of Health, to ensure Egyptians returning from abroad are not infected with the new coronavirus.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that it will operate about 22 exceptional flights to return Egyptians stranded abroad until the end of April, in coordination with the Ministry of Immigration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Civil Aviation Authority had announced the suspension of civil aviation in Egypt On March 19.The letter excluded five cases from suspension, including air cargo flights ambulance flights, domestic flights and charter flights enabling the return of tourists after the end of their programs.
