CAIRO, April 11 (MENA) - The Cairo Criminal Court on Saturday put off till May 27 the trial of 35 defendants implicated in the Warraq island case.
The case dates back to July 16, 2017, when police arrived at Giza's Warraq island to remove encroachments on state-owned lands and clashes ensued with the residents.
The clashes left at least 33 policemen wounded, the Ministry of Interior had said in a statement.
When security forces attempted to demolish illegal buildings, some of the trespassers demonstrated in various areas and disrupted the operation by firing birdshots and throwing stones.
