CAIRO – 21 June 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi will head to Uganda Thursday to participate in the first Nile Basin Summit, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said in a Wednesday statement.
The summit will highlight the importance of cooperation in the Nile Basin, Youssef said. The goal is to achieve common interests for all parties in the region.
The ambassador added that there are many chances for cooperation between the basin countries in several fields such as energy, agriculture, industry and others.
Sisi is scheduled to participate in the closed consultative session of the heads of Nile Basin states and. There will also be bilateral meetings with several African leaders headed by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to discuss development and how to strengthen and develop bilateral relations with these countries in various fields.
