CAIRO, March 23 (MENA) - Education Minister Tareq Shawqi said a package of new decisions will be taken by the end of the current week in view of the latest developments of the coronavirus.
In a TV interview on MBC satellite channel on Monday, Shawqi said the ministry is mulling a number of solutions and verifying how far these solutions are legal before referring them to the president and cabinet for approval.
He called on parents to give a space to the ministry to take needed decisions for the best interests of students.
He reviewed the decisions taken over the past period, noting that the ministry seeks to avoid getting 1.8 million students to attend the exams at closed rooms.
He stressed that the state is seeking to find solutions which would serve students' interests.
As for international schools, he said the ministry held contacts with the international authorities in charge for the best interests of students.
He said the ministry's officials hold daily meetings to reach proper decisions as soon as possible.
