CAIRO, March 22 (MENA) - The Council of Churches of Egypt has praised the strenuous efforts taken by the state to confront the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
In a statement released on Sunday, the council expressed its support of all decisions made by the heads of Egypt’s main Christian denominations to deal with the epidemic.
The council called on local churches to educate their religious communities about the dangers of this virus and hold joint prayers on Tuesday from 6 pm till 8 pm.
It also urged all churches to provide support and help for those affected by the outbreak of this pandemic.
The Council of Churches of Egypt is formed by the main five Egyptian churches representing the different Christian denominations (the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Evangelical Church, the Episcopal Church, the Greek Orthodox Church and the Coptic Catholic Church).
