CAIRO, 17 February 2020: An Arab expert group on competition convened its 11th meeting to probe a memo submitted by the AL General Secretariat about a bill and guideline outlined to help member states prevent monopoly.
The draft law has been outlined after a thorough revision of more than 20 competition laws inside and outside the Arab world, said Bahgat Abul Nasr, director of the economic integration department at the AL, Monday.
The bill aims to enhance trade exchange through solving problems that hinder internal trade movement in all Arab countries, he added.
Abul Nasr made it clear that the issue of increased production mainly hinges on competition, noting that this is accordingly reflected on improved inter-Arab trade and development.
