CSF vehicle explosion death toll rises to 2

CAIRO – June 18 2017: A second police officer has died from the injuries sustained from an explosion early Sunday. The blast targeted a Central Security Forces (CSF) vehicle, killing one on the scene.

Additionally, four security personnel were injured in the explosion Sunday morning on the Autostrad road, near the Cairo suburb of Maadi. Security forces confirmed later that Capt. Ahmed Ibrahim Abdel Nabi died at the hospital due to his injuries.

Security forces blocked the roads leading to the neighborhood immediately after the attack. The Ministry of Interior has yet to confirm whether to consider this an act of terrorism. An investigation was ordered to be opened by the public prosecution.
