CAIRO - 16 January 2020: Head of the Legislative and Constitutional Affairs Committee in Egypt's House of Representatives, Bahaa El-Din Abu Shoka announced on Thursday that the Legislative elections is scheduled in November 2020.

During meeting with Malawi's parliament delegation in Cairo he added that the current round of the parliament is going to end by January 2021 according to the constitution, therefore, the election is going to be held in November 2020.

As for the Presidential elections, Abu Shoka said that it will be held by March 2024, and not necessarily in conjunction with the legislative elections.

Head of the Malawi's parliament delegation stressed on the importance of enhancing the Egyptian-Malawian relations especially on the parliamentary level. He added that Egypt has a long and rich history "that everyone can learn from it".

On November, Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal confirmed that the current legislative term ends in January 2021.
