CAIRO - 16 January 2020: Fellows of the “Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership" dedicated a song in memory of the late Leader Gamal Abdel Nasser’s birth anniversary, according to a statement by the African Youth Bureau.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports, chaired by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, released the Nasser Leadership Fellowship Song. Nasser Fellowship was launched by the ministry through the “Central Administration of the Parliament and Civic Education, and the African Youth Bureau” under the auspices of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, in cooperation with the African Union, during the period from 8 to 22 June 2019.
The release of the song coincides with the birth anniversary of Leader Gamal Abdel Nasser. The song was chanted by the fellows of the Nasser Fellowship for African Leadership, under the artistic supervision of the Afri-Cairo Art Foundation.
It should be noted that the Nasser Leadership Fellowship sought to train 100 executive leaders of the African Union member states: decision makers from both public and private sectors; civil society youths, heads of national councils for youths; faculty staff at universities; researchers at strategic research Centers, members of trade unions, journalists and media professionals.
Nasser Fellowship is the first inter-African Fellowship, and it is implementing the "One Million by 2021" Initiative that aims to qualify one million young Africans by 2021. The initiative was recently launched by the AU Commission on Science, Technology and Human Resources in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
The aim of the fellowship is to popularize the authentic Egyptian experience in national institution-building and to create a new generation of young African transforming leaders whose visions are in line with the orientations of Egypt's presidency of the African Union, and committed to serving the objectives of African unity by enhancing integration. In addition, the fellowship geared towards gathering the most influential young African leaders across the continent in order to equip them with the necessary training and skills, as well as to educate them about strategic visions.
