Education Ministry to establish unit to manage tech. schools: Official

CAIRO, Jan 13 (MENA) - The Education Ministry is planning to establish a special unit to manage technology schools in Egypt.

It is a step to upgrade technical education in Egypt, said Dr Mohamed Megahed, a deputy education minister, in statements to MENA Monday.

The unit-to-be will have an independent budget, Megahed said, adding that the Ministry is also acting to increase the number of technology schools across Egypt from just 11 to at least 100 by 2030.

Those schools will focus on food industrialization, auto maintenance, electricity technology and the manufacture of marble, he noted.
