CAIRO – 9 January 2019: Cairo and Giza governorates are seeing heavy rains, on Thursday, amid unstable and cold weather wave expected to ease by next week.
In statements to Egypt Today on Wednesday, Director of weather forecasts at the Meteorological Authority, Mahmoud Chaheen, expected that the unstable weather would continue for the coming 72 hours, as the country will witness active winds of sand and dust in most areas.
He added that heavy rains will be witnessed until next Friday on the northern coasts of Egypt, with continued disruption in the Red and Mediterranean seas.
However, starting next week we will see an improvement in weather conditions in most parts of the country, according to Chaheen.
Egypt witnessed unstable weather since the beginning of 2020.
CAIRO - 2 January 2020: Egypt's Meteorological Authority expects the weather to be unstable during the coming days, with a severe drop in temperatures across the country. Low and medium clouds are expected to multiply in the north of the country, accompanied by heavy rain on the northern coasts, and areas near the sea, as the southwestern winds turn to the north.

Expected temperatures for Friday come as follows:
Cairo: Highs of 17°C and lows of 9°C
Alexandria: Highs of 17°C and lows of11°C
Matrouh: Highs of 15°C and lows of 11°C
Sohag: Highs of 17°C and lows of 5°C
Qena: Highs of 17°C and lows of 5°C
Aswan: Highs of 17°C and lows of 9°C
Saint Catherine: Highs of 4°C and lows of 0°C
