Environment Min. creates 41 eco-friendly air conditioners

CAIRO - 31 December 2019: As part of the Ministry of Environment's efforts to protect the ozone layer, 41 initial samples of air conditioners made of environment friendly materials were manufactured, according to the Ministry of Environment's report released on Monday.

During 2019, the ministry implemented several measures to protect the ozone layer, the most important of which is to reduce the annual consumption of hydrochlorofluorocarbons, which deplete the ozone layer by 25 percent in accordance with the Egyptian obligations to the Montreal Protocol.

Among the Ministry of Environment's achievements for 2019 were the distribution of 10 laboratory devices for detecting and analyzing the cooling media to the relevant authorities and holding workshops and training courses on how to use these devices.

The ministry issued four other reports indicating saving energy in 53 factories and the shift to using environment friendly alternatives through the supply of equipment that uses modern technologies in the insulation foam industry.
