CAIRO - 25 December 2019: The Egyptian Space Agency (ESA) is gearing up for launching a new satellite dubbed "African Development", in partnership with seven African countries, head of the ESA Mohamed El-Qosi said Wednesday.
During his meeting with a delegation of MPs from the parliament's education and scientific research committee at the ESA headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, Qosi noted that the new satellite is meant to measure climate variables on the continent.
Partner states include Sudan, Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya, Qosi said, adding that more African countries expressed their desire to join the satellite project.
