Sisi launches ‘Survival Ships’ to raise awareness on illegal migration risks

CAIRO – 17 December 2019: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi directed launching an initiative called “Survival Ships” to raise awareness on the risks of illegal migration.

During his speech at World Youth Forum (WYF) closing ceremony in Sharm el Sheikh, he noted that The International Human Rights Council highlighted the contributions and effects of WYF in Egypt, including establishing partnerships with other international youth forums, addressing issues such as sustainable development and dangers of illegal immigration.



Sisi added that all of Egypt’s youth have worked collectively in order for this forum to successes. He affirmed that he have participated in several fruitful discussions during the forum sessions.

Sisi also announced during his speech, expanding partnerships between Egypt’s WYF and other youth forums worldwide; besides, he instructed the National Academy for Youth Training to establish a regional center for Artificial Intelligence.

President Sisi directed WYF management to launch an international documentary competition that highlights work towards an SDG while taking into consideration the circumstances of each state.

The president directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss the possibility of establishing a Mediterranean high education zone in New Alamein, along with launching programs aiming at achieving the inclusion of hostile areas victims in reconstruction work.

Ten recommendations at the closing of Egypt's WYF 2019

CAIRO - 17 December 2019: Egypt 2019's World Youth Forum in Sharm El-Sheikh ended Tuesday after a fruitful week filled of discussions and workshops bringing together youth from all around the world. During the closing ceremony, three representatives of youth participants presented a wrap-up of WYF 2019.

He also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss with partners articulating precise policies to eliminate poverty in Africa, establishing partnerships with international entities in the sectors of agri-business, and decreasing food loss.

Regarding the callings, which demanded the president of establishing Women Forum, he replayed saying: “We don’t want to create any kind of discrimination between youth. Women and men both are given equal opportunities during all forums.”

The third edition of the World Youth Forum kicked off on Saturday in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, with the participation of around 7,000 attendees from around the world, according to the state-run news agency MENA.
