CAIRO, Dec 4 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry left here on Wednesday heading for Rome to attend the fifth edition of "Rome MED – Mediterranean Dialogues".

Shoukry will address the event on the Egyptian point of view on a number of regional and international issues.

He will also confer with a number of ministers and officials on means to boost bilateral relations along with issues of mutual interest.

As many as 50 countries will take part in the event which is the main international conference dedicated to the Mediterranean, involving government leaders, representatives of civil society, companies, media and academia of the Mediterranean region.

Rome Med – Mediterranean Dialogues is an annual high-level initiative organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ISPI (Italian Institute for International Political Studies).

The event running from December 5 to 7, aims to draft a “positive agenda” for the Mediterranean region by stimulating debate and new ideas, rethinking traditional approaches and addressing shared challenges at both the regional and the international level.
