Egypt achieved its best economic growth in 11 years, despite the global economic slowdown and international and regional instability, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Friday.
CAIRO, Nov 30 (MENA) – Egypt achieved its best economic growth in 11 years, despite the global economic slowdown and international and regional instability, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Friday.
In a speech delivered on his behalf by Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla during the fifth summit of Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), held in Malabo, Sisi said the Egyptian economy proved its sustainability despite the unfavorable regional and international conditions.
Egypt, as the chairman of the African Union (AU), is working with its African countries to push the continental development forward according to the AU Agenda 2036, Sisi pointed out.
The president highlighted the importance of ensuring the energy security by GECF, which entailed the need for creating an appropriate investment environment, fair prices, and good contracts to serve the interests of all the energy sector’s participants; producers, consumers, and international companies alike.
