Govt denies reports about Assiut school students getting infected by Hepatitis C

CAIRO - 29 November 2019: The cabinet media center dismissed reports circulated about a large number of school students in Assiut governorate getting infected by Hepatitis C.

The media center said in a report Friday that it has contacted the Ministry of Health, which denied these reports, stressing that the health situation in all Egyptian schools is completely safe.

The ministry highlighted the state’s keenness to eradicate Hepatitis C in line with the national plan to confront this disease, pointing out to the 100 Million Health presidential initiative.

It also called on media outlets and social media users to be careful and verify the accuracy of any information before being published.
