CAIRO - 26 November 2019: Minister of Education and Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar announced Tuesday that there are presidential assignments to establish five new technology universities in Borg El Arab, 6 October, Assiut, Luxor, and East Port Said.

According to a statement released by the ministry, the establishment of those universities will come after the completion of the establishment and operation of the technological universities: New Cairo University of Technology, Delta Technology University, And Quesna And Beni Suef University of Technology in 2019/2020.

The minister’s announcement came during the meeting of the National Projects Committee of the Ministry, in the presence of Deputy Minister for Universities Affairs Amr Adly, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research Yasser Arafat, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities Mohamed Latif, Chairman of the Engineering Studies Sector Committee Abdel Hamid Shaira, and representatives of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, and Ministry of Higher Education at the Egyptian-Japanese University.

The minister stressed the need to complete new national projects in the field of higher education in accordance with the timetables set for them. He pointed to the importance of establishing new universities to meet the growing demand of citizens in need for higher education.

President of the Egyptian-Japanese University Ahmed el-Gohary praised the efforts of the members of the National Projects Committee in implementing development projects in the field of higher education and scientific research.

Abdel Ghaffar pointed out that the Egyptian-Japanese University for Science and Technology is the culmination of the joint scientific cooperation between Egypt and Japan.

He stressed that the idea of ​​establishing the Japanese University is based on the provision of high-quality practical academic programs, and centers of excellence for basic and applied research to serve the local and regional community.
