PARIS, Nov 26 (MENA) - French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed Tuesday that 13 French troops had been killed in a helicopter accident in Mali, Euro News reported.
Macron said that the six officers, six 'sous'officiers' - or 'sub officers', and a corporal were killed during an operation against terrorists in the African nation.
The accident occurred as a result of a collision between two helicopters, one a Tigre the other a Cougar, while on operation tracking a militant group.
France has 4,500 troops stationed in Mali as part of Operation Barkhane, where it is fighting terrorists allied to the Daesh militant group.
