CAIRO, Nov 11 (MENA) - Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit voiced hope that political leaderships in Iraq would manage to work out an exit from the current mayhem caused by violent anti-government protests, expressing sorrow at the fall of victims among protesters.

In a statement released on Monday, a reliable source at the Arab League General Secretariat said Abul Gheit voiced his understanding of the state's willingness to control the security situation and prevent chaos.

Meanwhile, the Arab League chief voiced worry over the continuing violence, noting that more disturbances would increase foreign pressures and further complicate the situation.

The source made it clear that a consensus among protesters and political leaderships under the umbrella of the Arab League is the only way out of the current stalemate.

The source renewed the affirmation of the Arab League on standing by Iraq is such a critical phase, voicing hope over Iraq's ability to maintain its stability and strength very soon.
