Sisi to attend Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Thursday ceremony

CAIRO, Nov 4 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will attend a ceremony on Thursday to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad “Al Mawlid Al Nabawi”.

The event will be organized by the Ministry of Awqaf.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal, Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb, Grand Mufti Shawqi Allam and Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa will be in attendance, said a source at the Awqaf Ministry.

Sisi is set to deliver a speech to the Muslim world during the event about various current issues.

The president is also expected to honor several Egyptian and international figures in appreciation of their efforts to renew religious discourse.

Al Mawlid Al Nabawi is observed on the 12th day of Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month in the Islamic lunar calendar. It falls this year on November 9.
