UAE bans beIN Sports receivers’ sales, subscription cards

CAIRO - 15 June 2017: United Arab Emirates authorities banned the sale of the Qatari beIN Sports satellite receivers and subscription cards in its markets, on Wednesday, according to media sources.
The authorities have stated that any shops that sell or renew the subscription cards will be subjected to a penalty.

The UAE severed its ties with Qatar over allegations that Qatar supports terrorism.

The UAE and its regional partners have closed their airspace for Qatari planes, as well as all ports for Qatari vessels. Various Qatari news websites have also been blocked.

Qatar's Al Jazeera network and sports channel beIN Sports have also been shut down by the UAE's telecommunications services.
