Dozens of Egyptian community members gathered to express support for President Sisi - Egypt Today
CAIRO – 24 September 2019: For the 5th consecutive day, dozens of Egyptian nationals gathered in the streets of New York, carrying Egyptian flags, and cheering for President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, who arrived in New York Saturday morning to participate in the 74th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 74).
“Long live Sisi!”, “Welcome Sisi!”, “Welcome President Sisi!” and “We support President Sisi!” were among the top slogans chanted by the hordes of Egyptian nationals who gathered to show support for the Egyptian leader.
“This is my third day I’ve been showing support to President Sisi,” Mohamed Ahmed, an Egyptian national residing in the U.S. told Egypt Today. “This man has achieved a lot to this country, and he protected Egypt from terrorism.”
President Sisi will deliver a speech before the UNGA on Wednesday, where will touch on Egypt’s vision, achievements and stances towards regional and international events, especially in terms of global peace and security.
While regarding Egyptian-US relations, President Sisi’s visit to New York will witness intensive activities, as he is set to meet with influential figures, leaders of global companies, and major economic institutions that are seeking to increase their investments in Egypt, in addition to localize their business profile in the country amid attractive investment environment and the comprehensive development operation.
