NEW YORK, Sept 23 (MENA) - Egypt is taking part in the UN Climate Action Summit, which is due to kick off Monday at 4 p.m. local time.
The summit was called for by UN Secretary General António Guterres to follow up progress made by world countries in fulfilling their commitments to limit global warming to well below 2C.
The summit's activities will see a session to review the concrete regional and international moves towards making a better level of climate change adaptation and responding to disasters, through financial and technical support.
The event is expected to be attended by Bangladesh's prime minister, Ghana's president, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, the World Bank Group president, Sudan's prime minister and other officials.
The UN chief hopes that the summit would prompt world countries to resort to using clean and renewable energy sources, away from fossil fuels.
