CAIRO – 21 September 2019 – In cooperation with concerned bodies, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) sent Sudan food aid on Saturday, the ERC said in a statement.
The 587-ton aid includes 265 tons of sugar, 290 tons of pasta, 34,000 cans of butter, and about 27 tons of Halva, the statement added. The cost of aid was estimated at LE5.8 million, the statement said.
The aid was shipped by trucks that equipped with coolers to maintain the safety of goods.
On September 14, Egyptian aid shipments were sent to Juba as part of Cairo's efforts to back the implementation of the peace agreement in South Sudan, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
