CAIRO – 15 September 2018: A cooperation agreement was signed Sunday between the Faculty of Medicine of Cairo University and its counterpart at the University of Pennsylvania in the fields of scientific research, education and training programs.
Mohamed Otham al-Khesht, chair of Cairo University, Abdel Rahman Zekri, vice chair of Kesht for postgraduate studies and research, Hala Salah el-Din, dean of Cairo University’s medical school, known as Qasr al-Aini, and Mohamed Hafez Ramadan, head of the neurology department.
From the University of Pennsylvania's medical school, known as Penn Med., Glenn Galton, the director of international relations and global agreements, and William C. Welch, head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Pennsylvania Hospital, attended the meeting.

The agreement includes exchanging scientific material and information, research, as well as mutual scientific visits by faculty members, and scholarships.
Galton said the University of Pennsylvania wants to expand the cooperation with Cairo University in the field of political science and philosophy and others.
For his part, Kesht said Cairo University seeks cooperation with the top 100 universities worldwide, and the University of Pennsylvania ranks 15th in the QS World University Ranking and 17th in Shanghai University Ranking.
