CAIRO – 11 September 2019: The Egyptian foreign minister, Sameh Shoukry, said on Tuesday that discussions are being held between the members of the Arab League about Syria’s return to the AL.
Shoukry said in press statements that the members of the AL are discussing the best time for the Syrian return to the Arab League, adding that the matter will be studied once the soaring tensions in Syria are eased.
Shoukry said that once Syria is free of its current crisis and able to execute a vivid political plan, the Arab League will study the suitable time for its return.
The Egyptian foreign minister said topics like fixing the financial and administrative system of the Arab organization were among the discussions.
Shoukry said that the Arab foreign ministers’ meeting on Tuesday discussed several regional topics such as the Palestinian cause, Syria, Yemen and Libya, the foreign minister added that terrorism and ways to annihilate it was among the topics.
