CAIRO, 3 September 2019: Egypt and Guinea signed on Tuesday a memorandum of standing in the environmental domain, the Environment Ministry said in a statement.

The MoU came after President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's recent visit to the West Africa region to boost ties with the African countries in light of Egypt's chairmanship of the African Union.

Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmin Fouad and Guinean Foreign Minister Mamadi Touré inked the MoU in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and Antiquities Minister Khaled Anani.

The agreement covers cooperation in the rationalization of water consumption, managing solid waste, adaptation to climate change, and preserving the natural resources.
