Moscow: Russian ambassador in Cairo passes away

MOSCOW, 2 September 2019: Russian Ambassador to Egypt Sergei Kirpichenko died in Cairo at the age of 68, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced on Monday.

"Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Sergei Kirpichenko, a talented and steady friend, died suddenly this morning in a hospital", a statement issued by the ministry, quoted by Sputnik, read.

A Foreign Ministry source did not reveal the cause of the ambassador's sudden death.
