RAMALLAH, Aug 6 (MENA) - Israeli forces arrested overnight as many as 25 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to security sources on Tuesday.

The Israeli occupation troops apprehended 11 Palestinians, including a former prisoner, after ransacking their houses in Asira Ash-Shamaliya village, north of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

In Tulkarm, witnesses confirmed an Israeli military raid in Bal'a town, east the city, where dozens of soldiers stormed into a number of houses, occupied the rooftops of others and held a Palestinian.

Israeli military vehicles reportedly raided al-Eizariya town, east of Jerusalem, where soldiers rounded up three Palestinians.

During ensuing confrontations, soldiers opened fire towards youngsters who protested the raid. No injuries were reported though.

In Bethlehem, an Israeli military raid was carried out in Aida refugee camp, resulting in the arrest of a Palestinian.

In Hebron, security sources confirmed that two Palestinians were nabbed in two separate raids in Dura town and al-Fawwar refugee camp in the southern West Bank.

Israeli occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the Israeli military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

According to Palestinian figures, roughly 5,700 Palestinians -- including numerous women and children -- are currently languishing in Israeli detention facilities
