WASHINGTON - 2 Aug 2019: The US formally withdrew from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty with Russia, Alhurra news channel reported in breaking news on Friday.

“The United States will not remain party to a treaty that is deliberately violated by Russia,” Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a statement.

Earlier this year, US President Donald Trump's administration announced its intention to withdraw from the agreement, accusing Moscow of repeatedly violating its terms, a charge that was denied by Russia.
