U.S. Al-Udeid base to be moved from Qatar

CAIRO - 11 June 2017: If Qatar is globally designated under the 'state-sponsors terrorism' list, this procedure will ban buying weapons to it, political expert Mohamed Fahmi said.

Fahmi, who worked for Doha-based Al Jazeera network, wondered whether the U.S. Al-Udeid Air Base will be moved to another state or not, along with 11, 000 American soldiers.

The decision of Al-Udeid Base moving from Qatar is being studied and discussed by American politicians currently, Fahmi said on ONLive on Saturday. He indicated if this decision is taken, it will be carried out on several steps because of the high cost it may take. "When I met with an Obama's former advisor, he told me that the American administration asked Trump to out the decision of moving the Air Base from Qatar into force," Fahmi added.
