Egypt's Foreign Minister hails distinguished relations with Spain

CAIRO, July 29 (MENA)- Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry phoned his Spanish counterpart Josep Borrell Monday, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.

Over the phone, Shoukry greeted Borrell on his recent nomination as EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, looking forward to continuing efforts exerted by the EU concerning all aspects of foreign affairs, besides ensuring the effective contribution to solving different global issues.

He also hailed the distinguished level of Egyptian-Spanish relations at all levels, highlighting Egypt's keenness to boost Spanish investments in Egypt.

The top diplomat invited Borrell to visit Egypt at the earliest opportunity.

On his part, Borrell expressed his country's pride in its deeply-rooted relations with Egypt, hailing Cairo's regional role.
