Catholic church inaugurated in Menya

CAIRO - 28 July 2019: Catholic Patriarch Ibrahim Ishaq inaugurated on Sunday Mar Gerges Church in Menya’s Nagaa al-Dek in the attendance of Ambassador of the Holy See Bruno Musaro, Menya Bishop Botros Fahim, and Sohag Bishop Basileous.

Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark Diocese received Sunday an African media delegation, currently visiting Egypt, upon an invitation from the Foreign Ministry’s Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD).

The pontiff answered the delegation’s questions about Egypt, its history, and the ties between the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church and other churches all over the world.

After the two-hour meeting, Pope Tawadros presented some gifts and souvenirs to the delegation members, who hailed the strength of Egypt’s social fabric.
