MONTREAL, July 24 (MENA) - An Egyptian-Canadian women's league was launched to encourage women entrepreneurs and provide needed support for Egyptian females studying in Canada.

Egyptian Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Nabila Makram, currently visiting Canada, launched the league during a meeting with members of the Egyptian-Canadian Business Network (ECBN).

In a statement on Wednesday, Makram expressed appreciation to the efforts exerted by the ECBN members.

She invited businessmen to attend the "Egypt Can by development and investment" conference to be held in Cairo later this year.

Egypt's Consul General in Montreal Hossam Moharam hailed the minister's visit as well as the efforts exerted by the Egyptian community in Canada to celebrate July as the month of the Egyptian civilization in Ontario and raising the Egyptian flag over the parliament.

Meanwhile, ECBN President Abdel Boulos commended the ministry's efforts to link Egyptian expatriates via the social media and post them on the achievements realized by their homeland.
